Three Things are Official…Posted on May 30th, 2008 @ 2:34 pm
Well, today is Friday, and I have to make three things official:
- My son is officially taller than I;
- My son just finished seventh grade;
- My son will be a teenager in 14 days.
All of these things make me want to CRY! I understand that our children have to grow up, but dang! It seems like just yesterday I was warming up bottles, and applying ORA-gel to his teething mouth.
Aaron was very excited when he left for his last day of seventh grade this morning. Next year he will be the "big dog" at school, and he is hoping for some cool classes that will prepare him for his high school experience.
Aaron has decided that he wants to take Japanese in high school. He has not given me a reason for this choice, it is just what he wants to do. Wouldn’t you know it, only ONE high school (of the city’s 6) offers Japanese. Good thing, we have school of choice here!
Oh well, it is almost time to go get the kiddo! Let the summer beginnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn….:)

Water…Posted on May 29th, 2008 @ 3:58 pm
Yeah, I know! It is a lame title, but I could not think of anything better at this moment!
I drink TONS of water! We have a water container in the fridge, that gets filled up almost every night, and I drink TONS of decaffeinated iced tea and coffee! Well, with all of this "going green" stuff going around, we have been looking into other water choices. I drink lots of bottled water, especially when I go scrap booking, or just in the car, and I am sure that I use up my share of the landfill with water bottles.
With all of that said, Brad and I have been talking about buying a water cooler, and just filling up the 5 gallon jug at the grocery store when we go. The initial cost would be less then one hundred dollars, and I think it would be a wonderful thing! We have also looking at water purifiers and are still investigating them more. I am really weighing my options, and am hoping to make a decision soon, before summer really hits!
Boy, all of this talk about water has made me realize that my glass is empty, and needs to be refilled…:)

My Cute Lil Phone…Posted on May 28th, 2008 @ 10:00 pm
So, back in February, I got my cute lil PDA phone! I was so excited! It wasn’t the pink one that I wanted, because they were sold out, but it was black and finding a pink case was pretty easy!
My "smart" phone was synched to my computer and it kept my schedule/calendar very organized! Everyone knew how to log on at my house, and we were always on the same page. It was so nice!
Well…Last month I got a new computer…and I LOVE it!!! But I have been battling the "install" bug with my phone. I spent many a hours trying to get it to work and be just as organized as my old one. To no avail, I finally broke down and called Sprint today. A nice gal named Kelly answered, and she had NO idea what was in store for her. She asked me a bunch of questions, and at one point realized that I knew what I was doing, and that I was not just some computer illiterate who needed to be walked through everything.
She put me on hold, and asked me a few more questions, and still no luck. Kelly asked if she could call me back and this was after a 35 minute phone call already. I said sure, wondering if I would ever get a call back. About ten minutes later, my phone rang, and it was sweet Kelly, and at this point she had both myself and Palm on the phone. She was bound and determined to get my phone working, and make me a happy camper! I was pretty excited, and really thought that we were going to get things working. *happy dance*
After some technical questions and a few more clicks, I was told that my computer was TOO smart for my phone, and that PALM has not made a "desktop" compatible with my phone yet. HuH?!?! Are you kidding me? My phone is only 4 months old, and my computer is only 1 month old. OMG! What am I going to do? I live for my calendar. I love having my updated calendar with me at all times! How am I going to do it? Do I buy another Palm, and have to carry two devices? Do I buy a new phone and HOPE that it is compatible with my new computer…What is a girl to do?!?
It is 10pm, and I still don’t know what I am going to do. I am still thinking about it. Cell phones are not cheap, unless you are a new customer or upgrading, and since my phone is only 4 months old, it is not an upgrade. I did try to go to Sprint this evening, and they were already closed, guess that was my hint to just spend the night considering my options, and not just run out and buy a new phone. *pout*
Ok, the news is on, so I should go jump on my cozy couch with Brad and watch the local events.
