Vacation Plans Gone Arry….
Posted on July 30th, 2008 @ 10:57 am

Time to start thinking of PLAN-B!  As you know, we were planning a trip to South Padre Island, and then Hurricane Dolly decided to show up!  UGH!  We have been following the destruction, and talking to some people down that way almost daily, and then TODAY, we get this message on the website:

:::yeah, that was a bar inside the pool…*sigh*:::

Are you kidding me?  We leave in two weeks, and now we do not have a place to stay.  UGH!  Well, I suppose we will have to start making PLAN-B.  Not sure what that will entail, but stay tuned!  :)

Have a GREAT Wednesday, I am off to get my monthly massage!

Has It Really Been…
Posted on July 25th, 2008 @ 9:55 am

…a week since I posted?  Oh My!

I have been super busy this week!  I am really not too sure why else I have not posted!  But let’s take a brief look of what my life has been like since last Friday:

  • Tuesday - brought a client the new phone that she ordered and was delivered to my house, and then had to bring her to AT&T to get it activated (the whole time, having to tell the AT&T guys that I am not interested in changing MY service provider!  UGH!)
  • Tuesday (late) - dinner at Old Chicago (that is a post in itself…stay tuned)
  • Wednesday - Aaron @ work
  • Wednesday - dog @ groomer
  • Wednesday - meeting with Teresa at coffee shop to discuss this year’s choir stuff

  • Thursday - had Hailey
  • Thursday - spent half the evening doing more choir stuff
  • Thursday - spent the rest of the evening doing CM web site stuff
  • Friday - Aaron @ work
  • Friday - laundry started, cleaned bathrooms, cleaned kitchen
  • Friday - I have a to-do list that is about a page long, but thought I had best check in here, before people started to think that I had run away from home!  (Although, sometimes that is not such a bad idea…hehe)
  • Friday Night - Relay for Life Celebration

OH!  And on top of all of that, we have been watching the weather and destruction of our August trip destination!  *pout*  We are scheduled to go to South Padre Island, and now, I think we need to re-think our quick get away before school starts.

OK!  The laundry has stopped and the coffee pot is ready to be converted into iced-coffee…so, I better get moving but before I go, a quick plug for some really cute baby bedding!

Have a great Friday!

Until We Blog Again…

He’s Gone…

CIMG0638

… to work that is!  Today was Aaron’s first day of "work"!  My "baby", was up at 4am, and ready to go by 5am!

After two weeks of postponements due to the wet spring/summer we have had, he finally got the call yesterday!  Today was to be his first day detasseling!  He has been excited about this, but I think that the nerves got to him last night because he woke up 100 times!  Poor kid!

Look at his green duct tape!  They recommend that you duct tape the bottom of your foot to help prevent blisters, and then to tape the laces of your shoe, and that helps with moisture.  We will see what he thinks when he gets home.

I am excited for him, but also it is very bittersweet!  This is my "baby"!  Oh, and to add to the "mom pain" this morning, on the way to church (his bus stop), he asked if he could go to the mall with a girl on Saturday, "after work".  OMG!  Are you serious?  You truly want to give me a heart attack, don’t you?  First day of work, and a "mall-date" all in the same 5:00 am hour…I don’t know if I can take it!  *sigh*

My poor head!  My poor brain!  My poor heart!  Oh My!  What is a mom to do?  I suppose I should just realize that the life of a teenager has just begun, and hope and pray  that I have instilled enough values and morals, that he will make the right decisions and allow him the room to make the mistakes that will help him become a young man.  I think I just felt my stomach turn!

Oh well!  I think that Buster and I are going to crawl into the princess bed and sleep on this a little bit!  I have a long day, and even longer night, and getting up at 4:00 am will not allow me to stay up late and play!  :o)

Until We Blog Again…
